Fire Investigation at 47 Dix Street in Dorchester

Tonight at about 5:47pm, officers from District 11 responded to 47 Dix Street in Dorchester on a report of a building fire. On arrival officers were informed three Vietnamese people: a one-year-old female, an adult male, and an older female were all injured and transported to the Massachusetts General and the Brigham and Woman’s Hospitals. Preliminary investigations reveal that the victims are believed to be part of one family unit and that this incident is a result of domestic issues. Investigators have determined that an accelerant was used and information indicates that the injuries may be a result of an intentional act by the male victim in this incident. The injuries to the male and child are considered life threatening while the third victim’s injuries are serious. Detectives from the Homicide, Arson, and Family Justice Units along with Boston Fire Department continue to investigate the facts and circumstances of this incident.
