Three Suspects Arrested for Scheming to Steal From Delivery TrucksOfficers from District 1, yesterday around 8:15am, arrested Anthony Ruzzo, 58, of Brighton, Richard C. Tulimieri, 46, of Boston and William Brock, 35, of Dorchester and charged them with Larceny from a Motor Vehicle, and Receiving Stolen Property.
Plain-clothes officers were working in the Tremont St. area when they first observed the three suspects. Officers initially observed one of the suspects put on a reflective orange jacket and then meet up with the other two and engage in a brief conversation. Officers, cognizant of a scheme whereby suspects were stealing items from delivery trucks, set up surveillance on the three suspects. Officers observed the suspects exchange two-way radios, procure a two wheeler, and start “casing” several delivery trucks. Officers followed the suspects and stopped them after they entered a delivery truck and stole a number of items. Suspects were all apprehended when they stopped a cab and tried to make good their escape. The stolen items were recovered and returned to the unknowing delivery driver.
Shoplifter Arrested with Over $600.00 in Groceries
Officers from District 11 responded to 545 Freeport St. in Dorchester/Stop & Shop for a shoplifter. There, officers spoke to loss prevention officers who reported observing the suspect leave the store with a carriage full of groceries. Per loss prevention officers, the suspect “concealed” the groceries in her basket by throwing her coat over the basket. The merchandise stolen by the suspect amounted to over $600.00. Suspect, Jennifer Boatright, 46, of Dorchester was arrested and charged with Shoplifting Over $250.00.
Armed Robbery Suspect Arrested by Detail Officer Based on Broadcast
At approximately 11:35am yesterday, an officer performing a detail at 700 Harrison Ave. observed a person matching the description of a suspect wanted for an armed robbery that had occurred at 2359 Washington St. minutes earlier. A description of the suspect had been broadcast along with the means of escape, the direction of flight, and officers had been cautioned that the suspect was armed with a knife. The officer was able to successfully stop the suspect after giving numerous verbal commands that he initially ignored. The suspect was detained and returned to the scene where he was positively identified by the victim.
Officers from District 2 had responded to a call for an armed robbery earlier and there learned that the victim had her money snatched from her hand by the suspect as she walked out of a store after purchasing some lottery tickets. The victim and a witness did later see the suspect at which point he fled on a bicycle. The suspect, Michael Clark, 27, of Dorchester was arrested and charged with Unarmed Robbery and the victim’s money recovered from suspect.
Downtown Store Burglarized
Officers from District 1, yesterday around 6:02pm, responded to a radio call for a robbery in progress at 283 Washington St. On arrival, officers met with the caller who reported that the suspect smashed a window on the exterior wall of the store and removed a number of items from the display case. The suspect then fled on foot towards down School St. Search of the area for the suspect was unsuccessful but this incident remains under investigation.
