Today the New York City Police Department, the Massachusetts State Police and the Boston Police Department conducted an early morning warrant sweep that resulted in the apprehension of five fugitives wanted for Enterprise Corruption. The suspects were part of an organized ring of individuals posing as Homeland Security agents in an effort to obtain personal credit information from unsuspecting victims. The investigation revealed that the suspects specifically targeted an immigrant population while soliciting credit card information and other personal financial data.Operation Cookie Cutter was part of a six-month joint investigation culminating with today’s arrests. The suspects were apprehended in East Boston and Revere. All suspects are charged with Fugitive from Justice and Enterprise Corruption.
