District 3 Officers Search for Coyote and Missing DogThis morning at 1:03am officers assigned to District 3 responded to a radio call for an injured animal. On arrival, the officers spoke with the 58-year-old Mattapan resident who stated while walking his dog in a field at 221 River Street, his terrier ran toward a wooded area. The victim further stated that a white/ grey coyote appeared and picked up his terrier with his mouth and ran into the woods. The coyote and the terrier were not located.
Suspect Arrested on Boston Common with Crack Cocaine
Boston officers patrolling the Boston Common this morning at about 3:10am, observed two people acting suspicious walking in the Common. When the people observed officers, they split in two directions, and discarded what was later determined to be a crack pipe. Officers stopped one of the two, and later found the male to be in possession of crack cocaine. Police arrested Jeffery Richards, 30, of Charlestown. He will be arraigned in the Boston Municipal Court and charged with Possession of Class B.
Counterfeit DVD’s and CD’s Recovered in Grove Hall
Last night at about 9:44pm, officers from District 2 patrolling in the Grove Hall neighborhood, observed a group of males around the trunk of a parked motor vehicle. The trunk contained multiple duffle bags filled with DVD’s and CD’s. The officers questioned the operator of the car and asked if he was in possession of a hawkers and peddlers license. The officer discovered he was not licensed and placed Shurn Lewis, 28, of Brooklyn, NY under arrest for selling merchandise without a hawkers and peddlers license. The officers continued to investigate and recovered 323 counterfeit CD’s and 461 Counterfeit DVD’s. The officers also seized U.S. Currency from the suspect as well as 784 counterfeit disks. The suspect was further charged with numerous recording/ trademark violations. Lewis will be arraigned in the Roxbury District Court.
17-year-old Arrested with Loaded Firearm in Dorchester
Members of the Youth Violence Strike Force and officers from District 11 on routine patrol last night observed a male leaning into a parked car on Topliff Street. When the male noticed the police he grabbed his right side and fled. After a foot chase, officers arrested Pablo Watson, 17, of Dorchester. Police recovered a loaded firearm; the suspect will be arraigned on Monday in the Dorchester District Court where he will be charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Ammunition.
