Assault and Battery on a Police OfficerYesterday around 4:37pm, officers in District 3 responded to a radio call for a fight in progress at the corner of Mildred Avenue and Norfolk Street. On arrival, officers observed a group of teenagers in the park involved in an altercation. Officers attempted to conduct a threshold inquiry with one of the suspects when he became combative. The suspect grabbed, pulled and pushed officers by the shoulder. A 16 year-old juvenile was arrested and charged with Delinquent to wit Assault and Battery on a Police Officer and Disorderly.
Search Warrant at 61 Colonial Avenue
Last night around 8:17pm, members of the District 3 Drug Control Unit executed a search warrant at 61 Colonial Avenue. Recovered at that location was a loaded firearm, U. S. Currency, scales, as well as numerous bags of drugs. Frank Phillips, 25, of Dorchester was arrested and charged with Trafficking Class A, and Possession with intent to Distribute Class B within 1000ft of School zone. William Newton, 48, of Mattapan and Robert Joyner, 27, of Dorchester were also arrested and charged with Unlawful Possession of Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition and Possession with intent to Distribute Class B within 1000ft of School zone.
Firearm Arrest in Mattapan
Last night around 8:20pm, members of the Youth Violence Strike Force and Mass State Police where participating in Operation Falcon 3. As officers approached the front of 16 Marcy Road, they observed a suspect grab his waist ban area and run towards 19 Marcy Road. Based on officers observation and fearing that the suspect might be armed officers followed the suspect up the stairs of 19 Marcy Road. The suspect ran to the second floor, where he forced his way into an apartment. Officers observed the suspect running to the end of the hallway and located the suspect in the rear bedroom. Officers located a firearm inside a hamper at the right side of the door. Luis Figueroa, 19, of Roxbury was arrested and charged with Unlawful Possession of Firearm, Breaking and Entering, and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition. Officers also recovered a second firearm outside on the side of the house.
