Armed Robbery Suspect Apprehended with the GoodsOfficers from District 4 responded to 81 Newbury St / Marc Jacobs Store yesterday at 6:47pm for an armed robbery in progress. While responding, officers received information that the suspects had fled the store and their direction of flight. Officers shortly thereafter located the suspect and placed him under arrest at the corner of Boylston St. and Berkeley St. after he was positively identified. Officers subsequently learned that the suspect accompanied by another suspect, described as a stocky black male about 6’ tall in his mid thirties, entered the store, cornered the victim, feigning as if armed. The suspects then proceeded to take a number of handbags and sunglasses. The suspects fled with the goods after an unknowing customer walked into the store. One of the two suspects, Tyler C. Vance, 41, of Dorchester, was arrested and charged with Armed Robbery and several warrants while the other suspect remains at large. Officers recovered a number of the items stolen by the suspects.
Cell Phone Robbery Suspect “Dials In” to Wrong Victim at Wrong Time
About 9:30pm last night officers from District 3 on patrol observed a disturbance involving three individuals at the corner of Blue Hill Ave. and Talbot Ave. Officers stopped and investigated this disturbance by speaking to the parties involved. Conversation with the victim and witness revealed that they were walking on Blue Hill Ave. when the suspect walked up to victim, who was on the phone, and attempted to take her cell phone. The victim and her friend struggled with the suspect until officers came upon this incident. The suspect, a 14-year-old male from Jamaica Plain, was arrested and charged with Unarmed Robbery.
Robbery Suspect Nabbed by Multi-Agency Effort
Yesterday around 1:40pm officers from District 1 observed the victim of an armed robbery screaming that she was just robbed. Officer returned to the scene of the crime with the victim and broadcast a description of the suspect. A Massachusetts State Police trooper who was on scene informed officers that a person, matching the suspect description, was being detained by officers in the Haymarket Train Station. Officers responded and spoke to witnesses, a trooper, and a special agent all of whom pursued the suspect after he was observed robbing the victim. The victim positively identified the suspect, Edwin Ramos, 37, of Roxbury, and he was arrested and charged with Unarmed Robbery and Assault and Battery on a Police Officer for striking the trooper while he was being detained. The victims reported the suspect initially grabbed 2 five dollar bills out of the first victim’s hand then proceeded to reach into her front pocket and steal larger amounts of cash and then robbed a second victim of twenty dollars when she attempted to assist the first victim. All the money stolen from the victims was recovered from the suspect.
