Store Robbed by Suspects “Pulling the Shirt” Over Victim’s FaceOfficers from District 13 responded to 3095 Washington St in Jamaica Plain yesterday at 8:05am for a robbery report. On arrival officers spoke to the victim who reported that he came to the store earlier to open when three unknown males grabbed him from behind and pulled his shirt over his head. Victim further reported to officers that the suspects took him inside to the basement of the store and demanded that he open the safe. The victim was able to call 911 after the suspects left but search of the area for the suspects was unsuccessful. The store was robbed of an undisclosed amount of currency from the cash register and an undetermined amount of lottery tickets. The victim of the robbery was also robbed of the keys to his house, car and cash from his pockets.
M/V B&E Suspects Caught with “Fruits” of their Crime: Corona Beers
Yesterday around 11:38pm officers from District 4 responded to Ipswich St. and Lansdowne St. for a motor vehicle breaking and entering in progress. En route officers received a description of the suspects and shortly after arrival observed two males matching the suspect descriptions. The two individuals were detained after trying to elude officers and questioned. Both were found to be in possession of numerous bottles of Corona beer. Both individuals gave varying stories as to how they got the beers. A witness positively identified the suspects and they were placed under arrest. Suspects, Matthew J. Slaton, 22, and Jason M. Taggart, 28, both of Somerville were arrested and charged with Breaking and Entering Motor Vehicle. The victim of the B&E subsequently contacted officers reporting that she was in the process of moving and had left a number of items in her car which were now missing and amongst those items were numerous Corona beers.
\”Good Samaritan” Cut Aiding Victims of Assault
At approximately 2:10am officers from A-1 responded to Massachusetts General Hospital for a victim of a stabbing. There, officers spoke to the victim who stated that he was walking through the Boston Commons when he observed two college students being assaulted by a suspect, described as a 5’9” heavyset black male in his thirties. The victim reported he attempted to intercede and assist the victims when the suspect pulled out a knife and cut him on the left forearm.
