Anonymous Tip Results in Gun ArrestAt approximately 1:51am yesterday, officers from District 3 were dispatched to 41 Rosedale St. for a report of a person with a gun. As a result of information received from an anonymous caller, officers received both a suspect description and the location of the firearm. On arrival, officers observed an individual matching the suspect’s description and approached that individual for questioning. Officers then conducted a search of the area where the suspect had been observed leaving and where the caller had described the gun would be located. During that search, officers successfully recovered the firearm and placed suspect, Ethan M. Mooney-McCoy, 19, of Dorchester under arrest and charged him with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm.
Officers on Patrol Apprehend Robbery Suspect
On Sunday afternoon at approximately 2:51pm, officers from District 11 were flagged down by the victim of a robbery at 1320 Dorchester Ave. The victim reported that while she was standing at the above location three males approached her, one of who stole her handbag and then all three fled the scene. The victim stated that the suspects ran in the direction of Linden St. on Dorchester Ave. After a radio broadcast detailing suspect descriptions, officers quickly located an individual matching one of the descriptions. That individual was detained and positively identified by the victim. The suspect, Shawn T. Raye, 22, of Brockton was arrested and charged with Unarmed Robbery and Possession of Class D when marijuana was found on his person during the booking process.

Located While Still Inside Victim’s Car
Officers from District 4 responded to 277 Southampton St. yesterday around 11:59am for a crime in progress. On arrival, officers spoke to the victims who stated that upon returning to their car, they observed the suspect located inside their vehicle. The victims then dialed 911 and officers soon arrived on scene to find the suspect still inside the vehicle. Suspect was found in possession of a metal pipe that was used to enter and vandalize the car. Suspect, Thomas Webber, 42, of Dorchester was arrested and charged with Breaking and Entering Motor Vehicle.
