Bank Robbery Suspect Arrested Day After Attempted RobberyOn Monday at approximately 1:04pm officers from District 7 responded to a “hold up” alarm at the Sovereign Bank at 2 Meridian St. in East Boston. On arrival officers spoke to caller who described the suspect who passed a note demanding money. The suspect became impatient and fled the bank before the teller gave him any money. Based on the description received by officers, they were able to identify the suspect who could not be located at that time. The suspect was placed under arrest yesterday around 5pm when he reported to the station to inquire about some property. Suspect, Derek Emmett, 33, of East Boston was arrested and charged with Attempted Unarmed Robbery.
Stolen Car Suspect Arrested on the Jamaica Way
Yesterday around 5:44pm officers on routine patrol in the area of Creighton St. and Bynner St. in Jamaica Plain observed a motor vehicle make an illegal u-turn. Check of that motor vehicle’s registration revealed the car to have been stolen in Somerville with the keys in the ignition. Operator of the motor vehicle refused to stop after officers demand. Shortly thereafter located the motor vehicle and placed the suspect under arrest charging the driver, Arnold Figueroa, 42, of Cambridge with Receiving Stolen Motor Vehicle, Possession of a Class A Substance and numerous Violations of the Auto Laws.
Gunshot Victim Transported to Hospital with Non Life Threatening Injuries
At approximately 7:49pm yesterday officers from District 2, 3 and 11 responded to a call for a male shot at 120 Washington St. in Dorchester. On arrival officers located a 19 year old male victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the right arm at 2 Powellton Rd. The victim was transported to Boston Medical Center where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries. Officers recovered ballistic evidence from the scene.
