Armed Robbery Suspect Arrested by Officers After Brief SearchAbout 12:06am yesterday officers from District 4 located an individual matching a description of a suspect from an armed robbery that occurred about 10 minutes previously. Having stopped the suspect for further inquiry, officers discovered several items described by the victim as having been used during the robbery. Suspect then went on to state to officers that he could not have robbed anyone with the knife found on his person without any questioning or mention of a robbery. Suspect, a thirteen year old male, from the South End, was identified by the victim, arrested and charged with Armed Robbery.
Suspect Arrested After Trying to Cash Stolen Checks
Officers from District 2 responded to the Citizen’s Bank at 2343 Washington St in Roxbury yesterday at approximately 1:30pm for a larceny in progress. On arrival officers observed an individual matching the suspect description exiting the bank and stopped her for questioning and possible identification by bank personnel. Bank personnel positively identified the suspect as the person who tried to cash a stolen check for almost fifteen hundred dollars. The suspect, Britney Thomas, 20, of Mashpee was placed under arrest and transported to the District where she was subsequently found to be in possession of several bags of Marijuana. Suspect was charged with Uttering or Publishing False Writings and Possession of Class D.
OUI Suspect Arrested After Striking Several Unoccupied Cars
About 6:58pm yesterday a passerby alerted officers from District 5 to an accident at Centre St. and Elgin St. On arrival at Centre St. and Elgin St. officers observed an individual later identified as the operator of the vehicle walking around in a confused state. Conversation with that individual revealed that he had been in local bar where he admitted to consuming several beers. Suspect had a strong odor of alcohol about him and appeared unbalanced. According to witnesses the suspect got in his car and proceeded to drive in reverse going through several bushes and striking three unoccupied cars. Suspect, Edward Doyle, 73, of West Roxbury was arrested and charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol.
