Two Arrested After Pulling Knife on PedestrianYesterday morning at about 8:27am, officers from District 14 observed a victim requiring assistance at Commonwealth Avenue and Warren Streets in Brighton. The victim reported to police while walking in a crosswalk he was almost struck by a motor vehicle. The victim had a verbal argument with the operator of the car when a passenger exited the car, pulled a knife out and told the victim to mind his own business. The officer was able to locate the vehicle and stopped it close to the scene. Police arrested two occupants of the vehicle and recovered the knife. Both suspects, Michael Hathaway, 41, of Chelsea and Andrew Cacciatore, 30, of Waltham will be arraigned on Tuesday morning at the Brighton District Court and charged with Assault by Means of a Dangerous Weapon.
District 3 Officers Arrest Male with Loaded Firearm
Officers assigned to the anti-crime unit in District 3 were conducting an investigation last night at Harvard Street and Lorne Street in Dorchester at about 7:05pm when the individual they were speaking to grabbed his waist area and began to flee on foot. Both officers began chasing the male who during the pursuit tripped and fell. When the suspect landed on the ground a silver colored firearm fell out of his pocket. Police recovered a loaded firearm and placed Ray Cornelius, 20, of Dorchester in custody. He will be appear on Tuesday morning at the Dorchester District Court where he’ll be charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition and Possession of a Loaded Firearm.
West Roxbury Stabbing
Last night officers from District 5 responded to a radio call for a person stabbed at Washington and Albano Streets in West Roxbury at about 10:30pm. On arrival officers found a 22-year-old male with a knife protruding from his back. The victim was transported to the Brigham and Woman’s Hospital where he was treated for his non-life threatening injury. District detectives are investigating the incident.
Police Recover an Unloaded Firearm While Treating Stab Victim in Brighton
At about 1:45am, officers from District 14 responded to 12 Reedsdale Street in Allston for a report of a party. On arrival officers located a 20-year-old male outside that location suffering from a stab wound. The victim was transported to the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center where his injuries were considered non-life threatening. While officers were on scene, an unloaded firearm was found outside that address. District 14 detectives are investigating this stabbing.
