Armed Robbery ArrestYesterday evening around 6:09pm, officers in District 2 arrested Le-Ray Banks, 26, of Roxbury. Officers observed two male suspects at Hartwell and Schuyler Streets and attempted to conduct a threshold inquiry. When the suspect observed the officers, he fled on foot reaching towards the area of his waist. After a brief chase the suspect was apprehended at 34 Hartwell Street. The suspect was placed under arrest and a loaded gun and drugs were recovered from the suspect. Banks is charged with Armed Robbery, Unlawful Possession of Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition and Drug Possession. A victim approached officers and stated that the guy they just arrested had robbed him at gunpoint. The victim reports that he was robbed of his cell phone, Sony PSP, watch and cash. Officers were able to recover the victim’s Sony PSP. The second suspect made good his escape.
Robbery by Knife Point
Around 2:15am this morning a victim walked into District 7 to report that he was robbed at 100 Meridian Street. The victim stated while walking on Meridian he was approached by four black males, who punched and kicked him to the ground. The victim stated that two of the suspect had a knife. The victim’s wallet was taken and the suspect fled on foot in an unknown direction. The victim sustained some scraps and bruises but refused medical attention.
Larceny Over
Yesterday evening around 6:09pm, officers in District 1 responded to a radio call for a larceny in progress at 21 Charter St. On arrival officers spoke with the victim who stated that she left her purse downstairs on the bench outside with her friend. The victim was called inside and left her pocketbook outside because she knew her friends were there. The victim stated when she returned her pocketbook was gone. A verbal argument ensued between the victim and the suspect about the pocketbook. The victim went inside to look for her pocketbook but could not find it. When the victim came back down the suspect miraculously had the pocketbook. The victim checked her purse and discovered that her money was missing. Brenda Pawlowski, 44, of Hyde Park was placed under arrest and charged with Larceny and Assault and Battery on a Police Officer. Officers did recover the victim’s money from the suspect. Once the officers recovered the money from the suspect she became violent kicking and spitting on officers.
