Daily Incidents for August 31, 2006

One Arrested After FightEarly this morning around 1:30am, officers in District 1 responded to a radio call for a fight at 126 State Street. On arrival officers observed that the fight had already broken up but remained on scene to prevent any further problems. Officers then observed the suspect yelling at the victim, who then ran towards the victim punching him repeatedly in the head and face. Josener Dorisca, 24, of Brockton was arrested and charged with Assault and Battery.
Vandalism at 389 Neponset Avenue
While on patrol this morning around 1:57am, officers in District 11 observed a storefront glass vandalized at 389 Neponset Avenue. Officers found the store front door glass shattered by unknown object. Officers entered the premise and searched for possible suspects. The owners were contact and with the help of officers were able to clean up the glass and secure the premise.
Refusing to Stop for Police
Around 2:15am, officers in District 3 observed a motor vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. Officers attempted to affect a traffic stop, but the suspect refused to stop for police. Officers observed the suspects car attempt to make a left turn on to Crowell Street. The speed of the suspect’s motor vehicle was such that, he was unable to negotiate the turn and came to a stop on the sidewalk at the corner of Norfolk and Crowell Streets. Further investigation by officers revealed the suspect’s license to operate was suspended. Marquis McWilliams, 24, of Dorchester was arrested and charged with Operating After Suspension, and Failure to Stop for a Police Officer
Assault and Battery Behind Blanchard’s Liquor
This morning around 2:34am, officers in District 14 responded to a radio call for a fight behind Blanchard’s Liquor Store. On arrival officers spoke with EMS who stated that the victim was involved in a fight and sustained facial and head injuries. People in the area stated they observed four suspects over the victim and then observed them fleeing the area. The victim was transported to Beth Israel Hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Confirmed Shooting At 1502 River Street
About 10:23am, officers in District 18 responded to a radio call for a person shot at 1502 River Street. On arrival officers observed a victim suffering from apparent gunshot wound. The victim was transported to Brigham and Women’s Hospital. At this time the victim’s condition is unknown.
