Three Arrested with Sawed-Off Shotgun in RoxburyYesterday afternoon at about 2:53pm, officers assigned to the Special Investigation Unit as well as agents from the ATF observed a motor vehicle traveling the wrong way on Rockland Street and across Dale Street at a high rate of speed. Officers were able to stop the car across from 364 Warren Street. The Federal Agents spoke with the driver and occupants and observed a sawed off shotgun in the vehicle. With the assistance of units from District 2 and members of the Youth Violence Strike Force, they arrested Jacob Grice, 21, Ady Alves, 21, and a 16-year-old juvenile, all from Roxbury. The adults will be arraigned in Roxbury District Court and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Ammunition. Alves will also be charged with Violations of the Auto Laws. The Juvenile will be arraigned today in the Boston Juvenile Court and charged with Delinquency to wit: Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Ammunition.
Charlestown Resident Attacked While Gardening
Police in District 15 are investigating an incident that occurred last night at about 6:30 in the garden area of Terminal and Medford Streets. According to witnesses and the 46-year-old female victim, a group of six to eight Hispanic males struck the victim multiple times with a brick. The suspects were observed fleeing toward the Bunker Hill Projects. The victim was transported to the Massachusetts General Hospital where she was treated for facial injuries.
Suspects Arrested in Dorchester After Robbing South Boston Business
Officers from District 6 responded to a report of an armed robbery yesterday afternoon at about 3:19pm at the U-Haul Store located at 985 Massachusetts Ave. On arrival the officers were informed that two males entered the store with a shotgun and robbed the clerks of an undisclosed amount of U. S. Currency. The suspects then fled the store and witnesses observed them enter a vehicle and flee the scene.
Last night at about 9:15pm, an officer from District 11 observed a vehicle matching the description of the one wanted for the robbery. The officer confirmed the plate with Operations and conducted a stop with the assistance of other officers. Police arrested both occupants of the vehicle and charged them with Armed Robbery. Maurice Pettie, 33, of Roxbury and Marquos King, 19, of Boston will be arraigned today in the Roxbury District Court.
Brighton Officers Arrest Two Breaking and Entering a House
At about 8:05 yesterday morning, officers from District 14 responded to a report of a B&E in progress behind 57 Brighton Avenue. The 9-1-1 caller reported to police that two males were attempting to break into the rear of 67 Chester Street by crawling into the rear window. While the officers were responding to the call, the 9-1-1 caller updated them stating the suspects were in the dwelling. On arrival the officers discovered the rear window and screen open, and a barrel placed under the window. Officers arrested Simon Brightman-Uhl, 27, of Allston while the other suspect fled. After a brief foot chase, officers arrested Andre Chandler, 35, of Brighton. Both will be arraigned in the Brighton District Court and charged with Breaking and Entering a Dwelling House during the Day and Possession of Burglarious Tools.
Suspect Arrested with Loaded Firearm in Roxbury
This morning at about 2:25 officers from District 2 stopped a 17-year-old male at Georgia Street and Blue Hill Avenue after observing him at a call the responded to earlier in their tour for shots fired. While conducting a threshold inquiry, the suspect was found to be in possession of a loaded firearm. Police arrested Kevin Boyette, 17, of Dorchester. He will be arraigned this morning in the Roxbury District Court and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Dangerous Weapon, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Ammunition.
Confirmed Shooting at Blue Hill Avenue and Georgia Street
Officers from District 2 responded to Blue Hill Avenue and Georgia Street this morning at about 6:17 on a report of a person shot. On arrival officers discovered a male suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to the Boston Medical Center where he was treated for what appears to be non-life threatening injuries.
