Person Shot in Roxbury
At about 2:40am this morning, officers responded to a call for shots fired in the area of 68 Highland Street. Once at the scene officers were informed that an 18-year-old male had taken himself to Boston Medical Center with a gunshot wound to his shoulder. The victim told police he was walking on Highland Street and was shot by person(s) unknown. District Detectives are investigating.
Wine Thief Caught Red Handed
Officers in the South End responded to a breaking and entering in progress at the Orinoco Restaurant, 477 Shawmut Avenue at about 4:27am this morning. Wyeth Phelps, 41, of Dorchester, was arrested and charged with the break-in. Officers also recovered three bottles of red wine he allegedly stole from inside the restaurant, inside his backpack.
On Tuesday morning, officers responded to the Aquitaine restaurant at 569 Tremont Street and took a report of a break-in. A rear door window was smashed and two bottles of Grey Goose vodka were missing from the bar. No suspects were arrested, however Detectives are looking into the similarities of the two cases.
Motor Vehicle breaks:
As noted above, there were 18 reported incidents of a larceny from a motor vehicle. A reminder that many motor vehicle breaks are among the most easily preventable of crimes.
