Last night at 10:22pm, officers assigned to District 15 responded to a radio call for an assault and battery on Payson Place in Charlestown. While responding to the call the officers were provided a description of the suspects involved in the incident. The officers were responding to where the victim was located when they observed two suspects fitting the description of the suspects in the area of 240 Main Street. The officers stopped the suspects and brought them to Elm Street where the victim was located. The victim, a 21-year-old Charlestown resident, positively identified the two 15-year-old female juveniles as the people that assaulted and robbed her.The victim reported to officers that the two suspects approached her armed with a whiffle bat that was wrapped up with duct tape. The suspects struck the victim several times to the head and arm before stealing her groceries. The victim was able to fight off the suspects and remove the bat from them and turn it over to police. Boston EMS responded to the scene treated the victim for minor injuries. The two juveniles were placed under arrest and charged with Delinquency to wit Armed Robbery and Assault and Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon. They will be arraigned in Boston Juvenile Court on Friday.
