Shots Fired at Chinatown EateryAt 2:48am yesterday morning an off-duty police officer witnessed a man inside a Chinatown restaurant discharge a gun into the ceiling and flee with three other male suspects. The officer was able to follow the suspects outside and take note of their vehicle’s plate number and description and alert responding officers. The suspect vehicle was located a short time later on Park Street in Dorchester with one suspect inside. Officers arrested 26-year-old Gabriel Rosa of Dorchester, after he was positively identified, by the off-duty officer, as one of the suspects involved in the shooting. No gun was recovered at this time, however ballistic evidence was recovered from the restaurant.
Old West Church Vandalized
Officers responded to 131 Cambridge Street, The Old West Church, at 11:00am yesterday on a vandalism report. Officers spoke with a church caretaker who said he arrived at the church at 10:30am to find the sanctuary in total disarray. Officers also observed damage to church paintings and other church property. District Detectives are investigating and ask anyone with information to contact Area A at 617-343-4248.
Bike Thieves Caught in the Act
Plainclothes officers in Dorchester arrested three juvenile males yesterday at 3:27pm after observing the three forcibly take a pair of bikes from two victims on Dorchester Avenue. Officers watched as the trio pushed the victims and grabbed their bikes from them. The three were quickly stopped as they tried to flee and placed under arrest for the unarmed robbery. The bikes were given back to the victims and the three juveniles were taken to jail.
