Boston Woman Assaulted Walking to WorkThis morning at about 7:28am, officers responded to the area Longwood Avenue and Brookline Avenue for a person screaming. According to the female victim, she was walking to work and was approached by a male who grabbed her by the neck and forced her under a bridge demanding she not scream and claimed to have a knife. The victim them immediately began to scream and the suspect released his hold on her and fled on foot. The suspect was chased by Beth Israel Hospital security officers and held until the arrival of police. James Scott, 42, of Mattapan was charged with assault by means of a dangerous weapon, intent to rob while armed and assault and battery. The victim was taken home and reported no injuries at this time.
Dorchester House Hit by Gunfire
At 1:26am this morning officers were called to an address Harvard Street in Dorchester for report of gunshots. According to the victim, the suspect arrived at her home and asked to be let inside. She refused and he allegedly pulled a gun and began shooting into the house through a window. Officers did recover ballistic evidence from inside and outside the apartment. The suspect fled prior to police arrival but charges are expected to be filed. No injuries have been reported at this time.
