Two Men Arrested for Unarmed RobberyLast night around 11:15pm, officers from District 1 responded to a radio call for a fight at Causeway and Friend Streets. On arrival, officer observed the victim bleeding from the head with multiple cuts around the eye area. The victim stated to officers that while he was sitting on the curb, the suspect came up to him and demanded money. At that time the suspects began to kick and punch the victim. The victim was transported to Mass General Hospital for treatment. Timothy Coakley, 50, of Waltham and John Yandle, 52, of Charlestown were arrested and charged with Unarmed Robbery, Assault and Battery by means of a Dangerous Weapon, and Disorderly Conduct.
Pair Arrested After Shots Fired
Early this morning around 12:27am, officers in District 2 responded to a radio call for shots fired at 132 Eustis Street. Officers received information that a motor vehicle fled the scene at a high rate of speed. Officers searched the area and observed the suspect vehicle traveling down Dudley Street. As the officers attempted to stop the vehicle both suspects fled the vehicle on foot. After a brief chase officers apprehended both suspects. Justin Bly, 18, of Dorchester was arrested and charged with Resisting Arrest, Unlawful Possession of Firearm, Firearm Discharged within 500ft of Dwelling, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Trespassing and Possession with Intent to Distribute Class B. Also arrested was Warren Hairston, 20, of Brockton for Unlawful Possession of Firearm, Firearm Discharging within 500ft of Dwelling, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Leaving the Scene Property Damage, Operating after Suspension or Revocation and Failure to Stop for a Police Officer. Officers recovered a firearm, ammunition and drugs.
