Daily Incidents for June 13, 2006

Man Arrested for Possession of GunLast night at approximately 6:50pm, officers in the Youth Violence Strike Force observed several individuals on 33 Holborn Street. These individuals were known to the officers for a gun recovery in the area that happened one hour prior. The suspects appeared suspicious as they sat in a motor vehicle, resulting in the officers conducting a threshold inquiry on the three suspects. After searching the persons, officers recovered an unloaded handgun from passenger Frederick Henderson, 22, of Roxbury. He was arrested and charged with Unlawful Carrying of a Handgun and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition. The other two suspects were released and the weapon was seized.
New York Woman Forced into Prostitution; Two Arrests Made
Early this morning, officers from District 1 responded to a radio call at 230 Stuart Street for a kidnapping. Upon arrival, officers spoke to the victim, a 46-year-old Buffalo, N.Y. woman, who stated she was forced to work as a prostitute in Rochester and Syracuse before coming to Boston. The two suspects who forced her to work as a prostitute brought her to Boston and threatened her numerous times if she went to the police. With a description of the vehicle, officers were able to pull over the suspects and place them into custody. Harrell Bonner, 53, of Niagara Falls, N.Y., and Maureen Bowman, 44, of Phoenix, Ariz. were arrested and charged with Kidnapping, Support from a Prostitute’s Earnings, Assault with Intent to Commit a Felony, Procuring Person to Practice Prostitution and Detaining a Person in Place for Prostitution.
