Shots Fired Results in Three ArrestsLast evening at approximately 6:50pm, officers assigned to the Youth Violence Strike Force heard a shot fired while driving toward Lawrence Avenue. The officers secured the perimeter and searched the apartment at which the suspects fled into. The officers located three black males in the first apartment and observed marijuana in plain view on the kitchen table. A witness to the event informed police that Derek Moon, 18, of Dorchester had been in possession of a firearm. Moon and Brian Jordan, 18, of Roxbury, were both arrested for unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition as well as discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling. The third suspect, Rakeem Austin, 20, of Dorchester, will be summonsed to court for Possession of Class D.
Juvenile Arrested for Ammunition Possession
At approximately 8:20pm last night, officers in District D4 observed a known individual walking on Washington Street. When the suspect noticed the police car, he immediately stopped and began walking in the opposite direction. When the officers conducted a threshold inquiry and a pat frisk of the suspect, they seized a 12-gauge live shotgun shell. The suspect, a 15-year-old Roxbury boy, was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of ammunition.
Shots Fired Call Leads to Three Drug Arrests
Officers responded to St. James and Alpine Streets last night for a call of shots fired in the area when they observed a group of about six males in a parking lot in close vicinity to the scene. The officers approached them and advised the group that they were going to conduct pat frisks to check for weapons. While conducting a past frisk on suspect Marquis Gray, 19, of Roxbury, officers seized a large plastic bag of marijuana. Jonathan Castillo, 20, and Kermi Domenech, 27, both of Roxbury, also obtained bags of marijuana and were arrested along with Gray for possession of Class D.
Two Arrested for Breaking and Entering
Last night at 11:33pm, officers from District B3 responded to a radio call for an alarm at 1630 Blue Hill Avenue. Upon arrival, officers heard noises coming from the rooftop area. After climbing to the roof, officers apprehended one of the suspects, Angel Garcia, 27, of Lawrence, who was running away from the scene. Officers then observed another suspect concealed within a roof vent above the U.S. Post Office. Wilson Martinez, 28, of Lawrence, was then apprehended and both suspects were arrested on charges of for nighttime breaking and entering.
Man Arrested After Stabbing in Charlestown
This morning about 5:40am officers in District 15 responded to a radio call for a person stabbed at 24 Spice Street. Upon arrival officers were informed that the two parties got into a heated argument about an empty parking space. The victim was stabbed and transported to Mass General Hospital and treated for non-life threatening injury. Angel Cartagena, 53, of Worcester was placed under arrest and charged with Assault and Battery by means of a Dangerous Weapon.
