Firearm Recovered At Closing TimeThis morning at 2:15am, officers from District 4 were at Davenport and Tremont Streets when they observed a large crowd gathering in front of the bar. As the officers were dispersing the crowd, one officer observed two males running from the Mirage Night Club with one carrying a firearm. After a foot chase, officers arrested Kenneth Young, 36, of Brockton, on Columbus Avenue with the assistance of other District 4 and Northeastern University officers. The loaded firearm was recovered after the suspect discarded while running from police. The suspect is charged with Unlawful Possession of A Firearm and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition. He will be arraigned in the Roxbury District court on Monday morning.
Three Arrested Trafficking Ecstasy in Dorchester
Members of the Citywide Drug Control Unit working in the Codman Square area of Dorchester arrested three individuals after observing them involved in a drug transaction. The incident occurred Saturday night at 10:10pm. Police recovered over 62 pills believed to be ecstasy, marijuana and close to $700.00 in U.S. Currency. Police arrested a 15-year-old male from Dorchester and charged him with Delinquency to wit: Trafficking Class B Drugs and Delinquency to wit: Possession of Class D, Mihncahn Hoang Pham, 17, and Tam Tranh Trinh, 17, both of Dorchester and charged them with Trafficking Class B Drugs. All three will be arraigned in the Dorchester District Court on Monday morning.
Assault at Hotel Bar Sends One to Hospital and One to Jail
Shortly before midnight last night, officers from District 1 responded to the Wyndham Hotel on Broad Street for a fight. On arrival, officers spoke with the victim, a 43-year-old male from Brookline who was wearing a New York Ranger shirt who reported that the 5’10”, 250lbs suspect, who was wearing a Boston Bruins shirt, picked up a bar glass and hit the victim in the face. The victim sustained minor injuries and was transported to the Massachusetts General Hospital for treatment. The suspect, Gordon Haws, 60, of Ontario, Canada was placed under arrest and charged with Assault and Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon. Haws will be arraigned in the Boston Municipal Court tomorrow morning.
Suspect Arrested After Assault at Coin Laundry Center
Officers assigned to District 3 responded to 972 Blue Hill Avenue yesterday afternoon on a report of an attempted unarmed robbery. The officers spoke with a 24-year-old female who was doing her laundry and using her DVD player when a suspect walked by and took her DVD player. The victim grabbed the suspect’s arm and he struck her in the face with the DVD player and his fist. After a brief struggle, the suspect dropped the DVD player to the ground and fled on foot. The officers obtained a description of the suspect and viewed a videotape of him taking the DVD. After broadcasting the description to Boston Operations, officers in District 3 apprehended the suspect at 230 Westview Street. The victim positively identified the suspect. Police arrested Rayshawn Morris, 30, of Jamaica Plain and charged him with Assault with Intent to Rob, Assault and Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon, and simple Assault and Battery. Morris will be arraigned in the Dorchester District Court on Monday morning.
