Home Invasion on Huntington AvenueOfficers from District 2 responded to 902 Huntington Avenue last night on a report of an Armed Home Invasion. On arrival the officers spoke with the victims who stated that at 10:16pm, two suspects armed with a firearm and shotgun forcefully entered their apartment. Both victim reported being assaulted by the suspects and had visible injuries. The suspects demanded money and robbed both victims and removed $4000 from a safe in the apartment. The suspects fled on foot; the victims refused medical attention.
Officers Recover a Firearm on Clarence Street
Members of the Youth Violence Strike Force were in the area of Clarence Street in Roxbury last night at about 7:15pm monitoring activity in that neighborhood. The officers recovered a loaded firearm on the front steps wrapped in a newspaper. The firearm was recovered and forwarded to Ballistics. The investigation continues.
Male Shot on Columbus Avenue
Last night at 10:00pm, officers from District 4 were alerted by a female that someone was shot inside her apartment on Columbus Avenue. The officers spoke with the 23-year-old victim who stated he was walking down Columbus Avenue when an unknown black male fired a handgun and shot the victim. The victim then fled into the apartment. He was transported to the Boston Medical Center where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Teen Arrested in Hyde Park Spray Painting the Library
A concerned citizen entered the District 18 police station last night and reported that two males were spray painting the Boston Public Library at 35 Harvard Avenue. Officers responded to that location and observed the damage to the building. A description of the suspects was broadcasted to the officers working in the area. Officers observed two males fitting the description and attempted to stop them. When the suspects saw the officers, one discarded a can of spray paint and both fled. The officers chased the suspects and lost sight of them in the Cleary Square area. A short time later, another officer observed a suspect matching the description of one of the suspects in Cleary Square. This officer also began chasing the suspect and eventually captured
him in the commuter rail parking lot. The 13-year-old male from Hyde Park was positively identified and placed under arrest. He will be arraigned in the West Roxbury Court and charged with Delinquency to wit: Damage to Property by Graffiti/ Tagging. The second suspect remains at large.
