Harvard Law Student Will See the Inside of a CourtroomAt 5:20pm yesterday a District 14 officer was performing a traffic detail at 389 Cambridge Street in Brighton when he observed a group of 15 young men and women exit the Sports Depot bar. One individual caught the attention of the officer by interfering with passing motorists, yelling at cars and jumping into traffic as the group crossed the street. This barrister wannabe continued to wave and yell at the passing cars, eventually pulling down his pants and exposing himself to traffic. Objecting to this behavior, the officer placed 23-year-old Benjamin Huston of Brighton under arrest for Open and Gross Lewdness and Disorderly Conduct. Court adjourned.
Gun Recovered, Two Arrested After Car Chase
Officers from District 3 observed a blue Mazda traveling at a high rate of speed on New England Avenue at 5:30pm yesterday. The operator refused to stop for the officers nearly colliding with another car traveling on Norfolk Street. After committing numerous traffic violations, the suspect vehicle stopped outside 19 Tremlett Street and two males exited the car. Officers found the two males hiding in the rear yard of 15 Tremlett Street. Howard Richards, 17 of Dorchester, and Danley Daniel, 20 of Dorchester were both arrested. A loaded .38 caliber gun was recovered after it was thrown from the car on Wainright Street. Both men face gun charges and Richards will be charged additionally for the traffic offenses.
Officers Help Charlestown Resident into Apartment
A 28-year-old Charlestown man returned home after imbibing in a few spirits around 1:15 this morning. Unable to get his key into his door he became frustrated and started kicking the wall. A neighbor heard the commotion and called police thinking someone was breaking in. Police arrived to find the intoxicated male in the hallway with keys in hand. After confirming that the man did in fact live there, officers unlocked his door and wished him a good night.
Two Shot On Norwell Street
About 2:35 this morning officers from District 3 went to 153 Norwell Street for a person shot. Officers located a victim inside a hallway suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the right leg. He was taken from the scene to an area hospital. Officers stopped a second victim as he was driving erratically on nearby Washington Street. This victim was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the chest and was attempting to drive himself to the hospital. An ambulance was called and took this victim to an area hospital for treatment.
