Man Arrested Setting Fire Inside Parked CarBoston officers responded to 1 Beacon Street Downtown early yesterday morning for a man setting a fire inside a car. The victim observed 49-year-old Brian Matthews enter his parked car, light some napkins on fire and then get out of the car and lock the doors. The small fire burned a hole in the drivers seat and eventually burned itself out. Matthews was placed under arrest.
Two Arrested Attempting to Steal Tools from Construction Site
Officers from District 3 responded to 61 Senator Bolling Circle on a report of trespassers in the site. The location is a construction site where homes are being built. Officers arrived and observed a male with a power tool in his hand walking inside the site. A second male was also located inside the site. Further investigation revealed a broken window on the rear of the on-site trailer and a ladder leaning up against it. Officers discovered a pile of tools apparently removed from the trailer by the two males. Jonathan Lopes, 18 of Dorchester and Paul Goode, 23 of Boston were both arrested and charged with Breaking and Entering, Receiving Stolen Property, and Trespassing.
Dorchester Juvenile Arrested for Carrying a Gun
Officers from District 2 were in the area of Columbia Road and Devon Street at 5:30pm last night conducting an investigation. Their investigation led them to stop some individuals for questioning. One of the males, a 14-year-old juvenile, was stopped and officers recovered a loaded .380 caliber handgun from his waist area. He was arrested and charged with the unlawful possession of the gun /ammunition.
