Saved Parking Space on Hanover Causes DisputeYesterday afternoon at 4:00pm, officers from District 1 responded to 267 Hanover Street for an Assault and Battery. On arrival, the officers spoke to the victim who claimed he parked his vehicle in a spot where the suspect was standing. After he parked, the suspect walked to the driver’s window and punched him in the face. The suspect claimed that the victim struck him in the leg with the vehicle when he parked. The victim refused medical attention and stated he would seek complaints in Boston Municipal Court.
Dorchester Man Shot by BB Gun
Officers from District 3 responded to 70 Ames Way yesterday at 6:00pm for a person shot. Upon arrival, officers observed the victim with a single gunshot wound to the bridge of his nose. The 30-year-old Dorchester man stated he was walking on Ames Street when he heard a gunshot and felt pain in his nose. He noticed a small red car flee from the scene. He was transported to Boston Medical Center where the doctor evaluating him said the wound was caused by a pellet. Police searched the area for evidence but to no avail. The incident remains under investigation.
Man Arrested for Charity Scam
Last night at 6:45pm, officers observed a man on Stuart Street trying to solicit a number of people on the street. The officers stopped the suspect to conduct a threshold inquiry, in which the man stated he was raising funds for a walk for diabetes through the Roxbury Boys and Girls Club. The suspect, Devon Tayler, 29, of Roslindale, didn’t have any proper identification from the organization and when the officers called the club, they revealed that the suspect did not work for them. The officers seized $75 and a notebook pertaining information on the walk for diabetes from the suspect before placing him under arrest for Larceny.
Malden Man Arrested at the Harp
Last night at approximately 11:00pm, officers from District 1 responded to a radio call at 85 Causeway Street for a man hit in the head with a bottle. When the officers arrived, they observed the victim outside The Harp holding a towel against his head to stop the bleeding. He was transported to Mass General Hospital for treatment. A witness inside the bar told police he saw the suspect, a 28-year-old Brian Riley of Malden strike the victim in the face with a glass bottle. The suspect was placed under arrest after being treated by EMS for cuts on his right hand.
Unregistered Sex Offender Arrested for Indecent Exposure
Officers from District 1 observed a black male urinating at 78 Charles Street last night. The man, 42-year-old Robert Wright of Boston, was arrested for Indecent Exposure. Further investigation revealed that Write was also in violation of the Sex Offender Registry. He was transported to District 1 for booking.
