Man Steals Handbags on Newbury St.About 6:38pm last night, police from District 4 responded to 286 Newbury St. where the storeowner reported an unknown black man came into her store, grabbed five handbags off the display shelf, and then walked toward the front door. When he was confronted at the door, he gave two of the bags back, threatened the storeowner, and then left in an unknown direction with the three remaining bags.
Robbery on Devine Way in South Boston
Last night at 9:00pm, police from District 6 responded to 11 McDonough Way. Upon arrival, the victim, a 21-year-old Boston man, reported that he was walking home from the Andrew Square train station when the unknown suspect punched him in the head and robbed him with a knife.
Suspects Flee Cab Without Paying Fare
Police responded to 19 Shepard St. in Brighton at 2:30am last night where two suspects fled a cab without paying the cab fare. They ran through several backyards and scaled one resident’s fence, causing it to break. When officers arrived on scene, one of the suspects became belligerent and began yelling at the officers. He was arrested for Disorderly Conduct and Destruction of Personal Property.
Man Arrested at Washington St. Citgo
Last night at 3:45am, police responded to a call at 3055 Washington St. where a customer at a Citgo gas station threatened an employee after the employee told the suspect how much he would have to pay for a cheeseburger. The suspect, Calvin Hudson of Roxbury, was found to have an active default warrant for his arrest issued in Somerville and was placed under arrest.
Dorchester Man Robbed on Crescent Ave.
Police from District 11 responded to a radio call for an assault and battery on Crescent Avenue in Dorchester at 5:15am this morning. The victim, a 23-year-old Dorchester man, was reportedly walking home from a friend’s house when he was hit over the head with an unknown object. Two unknown suspects stole the victim’s backpack and began to kick and punch him before fleeing. The victim sustained injuries to his head and neck area, and was transported to Boston Medical Center for treatment. The two suspects could not be identified and have not been found.
