Everyday it’s another story about an illegal firearm being found on a young person. I think the cops are doing a great job keeping up with a seemingly endless battle. The real problem is not guns. After all, guns don’t kill people; people using guns kill people. That being said, the court system needs to do more to punish the offenders. Obviously, the courts are being too lenient on these thugs. If the criminal justice system doled out stiffer sentences, offenders would spend more time behind bars and when released, might think twice about committing the same crime. It must stink to put your life on the line as a cop to arrest a firearms offender only to see that same individual back on the streets in the blink of an eye.
