3 Arrests and 2 Guns Recovered in Theatre District

This morning at about 1:18 am, officers on patrol in the Park Plaza/ Bay Village area, observed a motor vehicle pull out from the curb at 150 Boylston Street failing to use its headlights as required by law. While the officers were attempting to stop the vehicle, they observed several movements made by the operator and front passenger. Both suspects motioned down as to place something on the floor of the motor vehicle. As the officers approached the vehicle, one of the officers observed a small jar containing a green leaf-like substance believed to be marijuana at the feet of one of the suspects. The officers removed the occupants of the vehicle and conducted a pat frisk of the suspects and of the motor vehicle for the safety of the officers before a citation could be issued.

While conducting a pat frisk of Michael Soares, 25, of Roxbury, the officer felt a hard object in the suspect’s right waistband that was consistent with a firearm. The officers recovered a loaded 9mm firearm from the suspect. At that point the suspect in the rear of the vehicle, Rasheed Marsman, exited the vehicle and fled on foot across Stuart Street. Officers pursued the suspect on foot across Stuart Street and up Warrenton Street. At about 99 Warrenton Street the suspect took from his waistband a loaded silver firearm and discarded it while he continued to flee from police. The suspect was apprehended, and after a brief struggle, was arrested near the New England Medical Center.
The firearm was recovered as well. Officers later recovered five bottles of marijuana from the vehicle. Suspect Allen K. Lee, 26, of Dorchester, was placed under arrest for Possession of Marijuana, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Ammunition.
