BPD Remembers: In the early morning hours of Christmas 97 years ago, December 25, 1927, Officer Herbert Allen was killed while on motorcycle patrol in the area of Washington and Fairbanks Streets in Brighton at about 12:50am. Allen was transported to an area hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.
