BPD in the Community: What better way to get in the spirit of the holiday season than to spend time with some of the young people we serve in our City? Hundreds of Boston Police Officers and Cadets joined the fun in participating in the 15th Annual Boston PAL / BPD “Heroes & Helpers: Shop with a Cop.” We want to thank the volunteers and staff from Target at the South Bay Mall in Dorchester for their support as well. Commissioner Cox and officers from districts and specialized units across the city along with countless volunteers from several outside police and first-responder agencies paired up with some four hundred deserving children ages 6-12 from every neighborhood in Boston to pick out special holiday gifts. The event was generously funded by the Boston Police Activities League (PAL), Target and several other charitable organizations. BPD civilian employees once again organized and staffed the event. Our officers enjoyed sharing their time while bringing a little holiday cheer to all the grateful children and their families during this season of giving.
