The Boston Police Department Remembers the Service and Sacrifice of Patrolman Louis H. Metaxas Who Died in the Line of Duty 36 years Ago Today

BPD Remembers: On Sunday, August 27, 1989, Officer Louis Metaxas died after falling from a rooftop while searching for a burglary suspect near 55 Old Colony Avenue in South Boston. Officer Metaxas was a Vietnam Army veteran, and 41-years-old at the time of his death. He had served with the Boston Police Department for nine years.
