At approximately 12:44 PM on Thursday, July 2, 2026, members of the Youth Violence Strike Force arrested the suspect at a residence on Mt. Pleasant Street in Dorchester. The suspect was arrested by virtue of a felony straight warrant issued out of Suffolk County Juvenile Court on the charges of:
- Assault and Battery by Discharge of a Firearm
- Unlawful Possession of a Firearm
- Unlawful Possession of Ammunition
- Unlawful Possession of a Covert/Undetectable Firearm
- Unlawful Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device
- Unlawful Possession of a Large Capacity Firearm
The facts and circumstances of the initial incident are as follows:
At approximately 8:08 PM on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, officers responded to a call for a person shot at a residence on Milton Avenue in Dorchester. Officers arrived on scene where they located the 14-year-old victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital and has since continued to recover from her injuries.
During the initial response, officers conducting a protective sweep of the home located two juvenile males attempting to leave through a rear door. A pat frisk of one juvenile’s backpack led to the recovery of a black, semi-automatic firearm with an extended, large capacity magazine. That juvenile was placed under arrest at the scene and later charged with firearm and ammunition offenses through Dorchester District Court.
A lengthy investigation followed, which led to the criminal complaints and arrest warrant announced today. The Youth Violence Strike Force assisted with surveillance and the safe execution of the arrest.
