Lengthy Pursuit Leads to Arrest of 16-year-old Suspect and Recovery of a Firearm in Roxbury

At about 1:50 PM on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, members of the Youth Violence Strike Force arrested a 16-year-old juvenile male and recovered a loaded firearm in the area of 41 Fulda Street in Roxbury.

As part of an ongoing investigation, officers received information that the 16-year-old suspect had removed his electronic monitoring device from his ankle and a warrant had been issued for his arrest. Officers searched the areas where the suspect may have frequented to no avail. Officers determined that the suspect had fled from Massachusetts State Police as well as Revere Police in a vehicle that had been reported stolen out of Mattapan.

Officers were able to locate the stolen vehicle in the area of 25 Fulda Street, and shortly after, they observed the suspect walking across the street towards the unoccupied vehicle. Officers exited their department vehicles and approached the suspect in an attempt to place him into custody for the outstanding warrant. Upon seeing officers, the suspect grabbed his waistband and fled on foot down Fulda Street. Officers gave chase, and eventually caught up with the suspect in a parking lot in the area of 41 Fulda Street. The suspect attempted to make good on his escape by jumping over a fence and running towards Highland Street. The suspect continued to flee from officers before jumping off of a fence and plummeting to the ground in the rear of 227 Highland Street where officers lost sight of him.

With assistance from the BPD K-9 Unit, officers were able to apprehend the suspect who was hiding in a wooded area in the rear of 227 Highland Street. As officers retraced the suspect’s flight path, they were able to recover a firearm in the area of 41 Fulda Street. The firearm was determined to be a Glock 19 Gen 5 loaded with twelve rounds of live ammunition.

Officers arrested a 16-year-old juvenile male of Roslindale. The suspect is expected to be arraigned in Boston Juvenile Court on charges of Delinquent to wit; Carrying a Loaded Firearm without a License 2nd Offense, Carrying a Loaded Firearm without a License, Carrying a Firearm without a License, Possession of Ammunition without an FID Card, Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device, and Trespassing.
