Investigation Update: About 12:30 PM, on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, members of the Youth Violence Strike Force were aware that the target of their investigation had several outstanding warrants for his arrest. The suspect was seen entering a vehicle in the area of Dudley Street and Mount Pleasant Avenue. The vehicle was stopped at 45 Mount Pleasant Avenue, however the suspect was no longer inside.
While canvassing the area, the suspect was seen running on Moreland Street and jumped a fence towards Warren Street. A foot chase ensued, and the suspect ran into an open back door at 24 Wakullah Street. Officers made entrance into the building and conducted a protective sweep of the involved apartment. The suspect was seen hiding inside of a closet, and was taken into custody.
Lashawn Scott, 19, of Boston, was placed under arrest for a warrant issued out of Dorchester District Court for the following offenses:
- Armed assault to rob
- Possession of a large capacity firearm
- Possession of a large capacity feeding device
- Carrying a loaded firearm without a license
- Possession of ammunition without an FID card
- Assault and battery with a firearm
- Discharge a firearm within 500 feet of a building
At about 6:20 AM, on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, members of the Youth Violence Strike Force arrested Tyler Powell, 18, of Quincy, in the area Crown Drive, Quincy. At the time of the arrest, the suspect was wanted on a warrant obtained by District C-11 (Dorchester) Detectives issued out of Dorchester Court for Armed Assault to Rob.
About 6:00 AM, on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, officers and detectives assigned to District C-11 (Dorchester) arrested Julian Cardoso, 19, of Dorchester, in the area of Page Street. At the time of his arrest, the suspect was wanted on a warrant issued out of Dorchester District Court for the following charges:
- Armed assault to rob
- Possession of a firearm without an FID card
- Carry a loaded firearm without a license
All three suspects were arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
The facts and circumstances surrounding the prior incident are as follows: At about 2:54 PM, on Saturday, March 7, 2026, officers assigned to District C-11 (Dorchester) responded to the area of 480 Quincy Street for a report of a person shot. An adult male victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police canvassed the area and recovered a firearm in the yard of 76 Clarkson Street. The firearm was determined to be a Glock 45 with one round in the chamber and twelve rounds in a large capacity magazine.
