On Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at approximately 11:52 a.m., members of the Boston Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU), working in conjunction with the FBI’s Metro Boston Gang Task Force, executed two search warrants issued out of Dorchester District Court.
Investigators located Keto Powell, 51, of Dorchester at 1580 Dorchester Avenue in front of a convenience store. Powell was placed under arrest without incident and transported to the area of 46 Mallon Road. A search of Powell’s person yielded approximately 7 grams of crack cocaine, a quantity of marijuana, U.S. currency, and empty clear plastic sandwich bags.
Investigators then executed the residential search warrant inside an apartment located at 46 Mallon Road, Dorchester. Upon entry, the apartment was determined to be an illegal rooming house. One additional individual was located during a protective sweep and was detained and removed from the apartment without incident.
Using keys recovered from Powell, investigators identified and accessed Powell’s room. A search of the room recovered the following:
Firearms:
- Iver Johnson .45 caliber pistol with 7 rounds in the magazine
- Smith and Wesson .40 caliber pistol with 10 rounds in the magazine (obliterated serial number)
- Taurus Arms 9mm pistol with ammunition in the magazine and chamber (obliterated serial number)
- Bauer .25 caliber pistol with 5 rounds in the magazine (obliterated serial number)
Ammunition and Magazines:
- One large capacity ammunition feeding device capable of holding more than 10 rounds (unloaded)
- One 10-round 9mm magazine
- Multiple rounds of .45, .40, and 9mm caliber ammunition
Narcotics and Drug Packaging:
- One plastic bag containing an unknown white substance
- Sandwich bags and a razor blade
- Four digital scales
Currency:
- An undisclosed amount of U.S. currency
Powell was transported to Nashua Street Jail and is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court with the following charges:
- Drinking Alcoholic Beverages in Public
- Possession of a Firearm Without an FID Card
- Possession of Ammunition Without an FID Card
- Possession of a Class B Substance With Intent to Distribute
- Improper Storage of a Large Capacity Firearm
