On Tuesday, February 17, 2026, officers assigned to District B-3 (Mattapan) arrested Reymon Lorenzo-Cruz, 23, of Dorchester, on various firearm related offenses.
About 5:00 PM, a vehicle was seen operating without a front registration plate displayed, and made an abrupt turn onto Harvard Street. The vehicle was also operating at a high rate of speed before taking the right turn onto Norwell Street.
Officers activated their emergency lights and sirens to initiate a traffic stop for motor vehicle law violations. The sole occupant of the vehicle was visibly shaking as he handed officers his driver’s license. After further investigation, the operator was requested to exit the vehicle.
As officers conducted a pat frisk, the suspect began to be non-compliant and yelling at officers. Officers attempted to place the suspect into handcuffs, and he began to violently resist their orders. The suspect was ordered multiple times to stop resisting which he continued to refuse and was swinging his arms.
The suspect bit an officer on the hand and reached towards his waistband. Officers were able to place the suspect into handcuffs and recovered a firearm from inside multiple layers of clothing. The firearm was determined to be a North American Arms revolver style pistol with five rounds loaded in the cylinder.
Lorenzo-Cruz was placed under arrest and is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court for the following offenses:
– Carry a Loaded Firearm without a License
– Carry a Firearm without a License
– Carry a Loaded Firearm without a License, Second Offense
– Possession of Ammunition without an FID card
– Resisting Arrest
– Assault and Battery on a Police Officer
