On February 14, 2026, officers assigned to District E-13 (Jamaica Plain) arrested Jorge Montenegro Jr., 37, of Hyde Park, on burglary charges.
About 12:52 AM, police responded to the area of 3531 Washington Street, Jamaica Plain, for a burglary in progress. Boston Police Operations provided officers with information that the suspect had entered the front door, and was now seen on security cameras leaving out the back door. A description of the suspect was broadcasted to all responding units.
Upon arrival, officers began to clear the building, and located a discarded surgical mask and black latex gloves near a trash barrel outside. While police were canvassing the area, they observed a male matching the suspect’s description in front of 3611 Washington Street.
Montenegro Jr. was placed under arrest and is expected to be arraigned in West Roxbury District Court for the following charges:
- Unarmed Burglary
- Larceny from a Building
