Suspect Arrested After Dragging Detail Officer with Her Vehicle

At about 9:00 PM on Saturday, December 6, 2025, an officer working a paid detail responded to a motor vehicle accident in the area of Beacon Street and Spruce Street. Boston Police Operations informed officers that one of the involved drivers was refusing to exchange information.

Upon arrival, the detail officer observed damage to a parked vehicle. The victims stated that the operator of the other vehicle had backed into their car. When the officer approached the second vehicle and requested the operator’s information, she refused to provide it.

The operator then released the vehicle’s brake. Despite multiple commands to stop, she ignored the orders and shifted the vehicle into drive. The officer was dragged by the vehicle but was ultimately able to free himself. The officer was transported to a local hospital with non–life-threatening injuries.

A description of the suspect and her vehicle was broadcasted to officers from District A-1 (Downtown). The vehicle was subsequently observed traveling on Cambridge Street toward Sudbury Street. Officers activated their cruiser’s emergency lights and sirens to initiate a traffic stop, ultimately stopping the vehicle at 3 Center Plaza, where an exit order was issued.

The suspect was removed from the vehicle and immediately began to resist. Officers were able to gain control of her and placed her in handcuffs. While officers attempted to place her into their cruiser, she kicked one officer in the chest.

The suspect, Avagadra Lipson, 27, of New York, was placed under arrest and is expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court for the following charges:

–          Reckless Operation of a Motor Vehicle

–          Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon

–          Motor Vehicle Operator Refuse to Identify Self

–          Resist Arrest

–          Leaving the Scene of Property Damage
