On Tuesday, November 18, 2025, about 8:11 PM, officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) responded to the area of 25 Warren Street for a report of a person with a gun.
Transit Police were advised that an individual was observed with a firearm and were able to provide Boston Police with a description of the suspect. Officers observed an individual matching the description to be standing on one of the platforms inside of the Bus Terminal.
Officers were able to stop the suspect, and advised him of the reason for the stop. A pat frisk was conducted, and a firearm was recovered from the suspect’s waistband. Officers also recovered a folding knife, and brass knuckles.
District Detectives were requested to respond and process the evidence. The firearm was determined to be a Bersa .380 with one round in the chamber and six rounds in the magazine.
The suspect, Freddie Bates, 48, of Boston, was placed under arrest and is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court for the following charges:
- Carrying a Loaded Firearm without a License, Second Offense
- Possession of a Firearm without an FID card
- Carrying a Dangerous Weapon
