On November 6, 2025 officers from District 4 received information that there was a known shoplifter inside a store at 800 Boylston Street. The suspect was described as a Black male, about 50 years old, wearing a plaid hat, glasses, beige sweater and jeans and he was concealing merchandise inside of his black backpack.
The suspect, later identified as Efrain Rivera, 54, of Boston exited the store passing all points of sale and fled on foot in the direction of Huntington Avenue. Officers approached the suspect, identified themselves, and stopped him outside of the store.
Officers recovered stolen clothing valued at $1140.00 from Rivera’s backpack.
Efrain Rivera will be arraigned in the Boston Municipal Court where he will be charged with Shoplifting and Common and Notorious Thief, due to several prior guilty convictions of larceny.
