Investigation Update: Five Suspects Charged in Connection with An Aggravated Assault At 550 River Street, Mattapan

Investigation Update: Detectives assigned to the Civil Rights Unit have charged multiple individuals in connection with an Aggravated Assault that occurred at 550 River Street in Mattapan. Following a comprehensive investigation, five suspects were identified. All five suspects have been formally charged and arraigned in Dorchester District Court. Civil Rights Violation charges are not sought at this time.

  1. Franklin Francois, 51, of Randolph, charged with Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon
  2. Woopenson Morisset, 30, of Boston, charged with Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon, and Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon causing Serious Bodily Injury
  3. Gardy Exantus, 33, of Mattapan, charged with Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon, and Assault and Battery
  4. Maurice Payne, 37, of Brockton, charged with Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon, and Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon causing Serious Bodily Injury
  5. Patrick Fanfan, 53, of Hyde Park, charged with Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon, and Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon causing Serious Bodily Injury

The facts and circumstances surrounding the prior incident are as follows: At about 7:45 PM, on Saturday, September 13, 2025, officers assigned to District B-3 (Mattapan) responded to the area of 550 River Street, Mattapan, for a report of an Aggravated Assault. After further investigation, the incident was referred to the Civil Rights Unit.
