At about 10:15 PM, on Tuesday, August 6, 2025, officers responded to the area of 11 Winthrop Street for a report of shots fired. Officers were advised that a loud bang came from one of the bedrooms. A protective sweep was conducted, and a shotgun shell casing was seen on a chair, as well as multiple casings were on the floor. A hole in the ceiling was seen directly above where the shell casings were found.
One of the residents of the home, admitted to officers that he had a shotgun inside of his room. District B-2 Detectives were requested to respond to the scene, and the apartment was secured pending a search warrant.
The following day, a search warrant was executed, and a shotgun with five rounds was recovered from inside one of the bedrooms.
Otis McCall, 64, of Roxbury, was placed under arrest, and is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court for the following charges:
– Carrying a Firearm without a License
– Discharging a Firearm within 500 Feet of a Dwelling
– Possession of Ammunition without an FID Card
– Intentional or Reckless Discharge of a Firearm; Striking a Dwelling or other Building
– Possession of a Firearm in Commission of a Felony
