On Wednesday, August 6, 2025, officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) arrested Alex Mack, 27, of Randolph, on various drug trafficking offenses.

At about 10:43 PM, officers were on patrol in the area of Washington Street towards Dudley Street. A vehicle was seen to not have their rear lights illuminated, and a traffic stop was initiated at 144 Dudley Street.

The operator of the vehicle immediately became confrontational with officers, and refused to roll down his windows. After multiple requests, the operator rolled down his left rear window, and slightly cracked the right rear window.

As officers were speaking with the operator, they observed an opened backpack on the right rear passenger seat with an unsealed plastic bag of marijuana hanging out of it. After further investigation, the operator was requested to exit the vehicle.

Officers issued multiple verbal commands for the suspect to exit the vehicle, which he continued to refuse. After multiple commands, the suspect exited and violently pulled his arms away from officers. The suspect attempted to run, but officers quickly grabbed him and attempted to put his hands behind his back. The suspect continued to actively resist officers’ orders, and a violent struggle ensued.

The officers continued to issue multiple verbal commands to stop resisting, and were able to place the suspect into handcuffs. Officers conducted a search incident to arrest of the suspect and his backpack. A large plastic bag containing marijuana, and a large plastic bag containing crack cocaine. A small scale, three more plastic bags of marijuana, and approximately $1,720 in U.S. currency was also recovered
