Investigation Update: Homicide Victim Identified in Roxbury Shooting

At approximately 10:01 PM on Thursday, June 19, 2025, officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) responded to a radio call for a person shot in the area of 163 Ruthven Street in Roxbury.

Upon arrival, officers located an adult male victim outside the location, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Preliminary findings suggest the shooting may have occurred inside a vehicle that crashed at the scene. The victim was transported by Boston EMS to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.

The victim has since been identified as 21-year-old Teo Vernice of Hyde Park. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has determined the cause of death to be a gunshot wound.
