3-D Printed Firearm Recovered After a Subject Stop in Mattapan

On Thursday, June 19, 2025, officers assigned to District B-3 (Mattapan) arrested Ernest Haley, 38, of Roslindale, and Julius Brooks, 18, of Mattapan, on various firearm and drug related offenses.

At about 12:53 AM, officers were patrolling the area of Almont Park due to a recent firearm arrest from earlier in the evening. Two individuals were seen walking on Messinger Street with their right arms pinned to their bodies.

As officers drove past the two individuals, they observed them duck behind a parked motor vehicle. Officers could hear the sound of a metal object hitting the ground, and immediately exited their cruiser to investigate.

The two individuals walked towards them, and an officer quickly recovered a firearm from behind the vehicle. Both suspects were immediately placed into handcuffs, and a second firearm was observed near the vehicle. Officers conducted a search incident to arrest, and recovered two plastic bags of crack cocaine from Brooks.

B-3 Detectives were requested to respond to the scene and assist with processing the evidence. One of the firearms was determined to be a replica firearm, while the second firearm was an Orange 3-D printed gun loaded with five rounds.

Both suspects were placed under arrest and are expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court for the following charges:
