Boston Police Homicide Unit Investigating Death in Allston

At approximately 7:48 PM on Monday, April 21, 2025, officers assigned to District D-14 (Brighton/Allston) responded to a radio call for an unknown incident, possible domestic violence incident at 82 Glenville Avenue in Allston.

Upon arrival, officers located a victim who was pronounced deceased at the scene. Multiple units from across the city responded to assist in locating a suspect connected to the incident. The suspect was apprehended near 50 Quint Avenue following an attempted carjacking.

The suspect has been identified as 26-year-old Omar Riaz of Boston. He is expected to be arraigned in Brighton District Court on the following charges:

  • Murder
  • Armed Carjacking
  • Resisting Arrest
