Roxbury Officers Recovered a Large Capacity Firearm After a Traffic Stop

At about 2:52 PM, on Friday, March 21, 2025, officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) arrested Johnson Prevot, 35, of Boston, on various firearm offenses.

Officers were on patrol in the area of Circuit Street when they observed a motor vehicle with revoked insurance operating on a public way.

Officers stopped the vehicle and made contact with the operator of the vehicle, and advised him of the reason for the traffic stop. Officers requested the operator to exit the vehicle, as it would need to be towed. Officers conducted an inventory search of the vehicle, and recovered a firearm. The firearm was later determined to be an AM-15 with six rounds in the magazine.

Prevot was placed under arrest and is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court for the following charges:

–          Unlawful Possession of a Firearm

–          Unlawful Possession of a Loaded Firearm

–          Unlawful Possession of Ammunition

–          Unlawful Possession of a Large Capacity Firearm

–          Defacement of a Firearm Serial Number
