At about 9:12 PM, on Thursday, January 30, 2025, Officers assigned to District B-3 (Mattapan) conducted a traffic stop at Park St. and Washington St., Dorchester, resulting in the apprehension of two individuals for firearm-related offenses. Officers initiated the stop on a vehicle with excessive window tint. The vehicle’s failure to pull over immediately raised suspicion, prompting the officers to pursue the car further before it eventually stopped at Park St. and Alpha Rd.
The vehicle’s operator, later identified as 33-year-old Paulino Barros, of Holbrook, MA, and his passengers, including a 14-year-old male, aroused further concern when the juvenile fled the scene. Officers quickly apprehended him, and a firearm was recovered from his waistband during a frisk.
District B-3 Detectives responded and determined the firearm to be a Black Ops Para 1911 semi-automatic pistol, containing eight rounds of ammunition in the magazine, and was confirmed to be stolen. The vehicle, also frisked for weapons, was towed, and all occupants were safely removed and secured.
Both Barros and the juvenile male were transported to District 3 for booking. Both are expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court for the following charges:
- Paulino Barros:
- Obstructed windows
- Failure to stop for police
- 14-year-old male juvenile:
- Unlawful possession of a firearm
- Unlawful possession of ammunition
- Carrying a loaded firearm
- Receiving stolen property (firearm)
