South End Officers Arrest Suspect in Stabbing Incident Following Attempted Burglary

On Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at approximately 5:30 PM, Officers assigned to the District D-4 (South End/Back Bay) Community Interaction Team (CIT) responded to a reported stabbing at the intersection of Warren Avenue and West Brookline Street in the South End. The incident stemmed from an attempted burglary that escalated into a violent altercation.

Upon arrival, Officers encountered a male suspect fleeing the scene towards Dartmouth Street. Officers pursued the suspect on foot and apprehended him outside 156 Warren Avenue. The suspect, identified as 26-year-old Kejaun Latney, of Malden, MA, resisted arrest and was found with visible blood on his hands. A subsequent search revealed a 5-inch steak knife in his sweatshirt pocket. Officers also noted that Latney had sustained a non-life-threatening stab wound. Boston EMS was called to provide medical assistance.

Simultaneously, additional Officers responded to 177 Warren Avenue, where they discovered a male victim suffering from multiple non-life-threatening stab wounds. Boston EMS transported the victim to a local hospital for further treatment.

Following the investigation, it was determined that Latney had allegedly followed a female victim to her residence, grabbed her from behind, and covered her mouth to prevent her from screaming. When the victim’s husband intervened, a struggle ensued, leading to the stabbing.
